Eastern Atlantic (from the Bay of Biscay to the Cape of Good Hope), Mediterranean, Red Sea.

Bathymetric distribution

demersal living on sandy and muddy bottoms, as well as seagrass up to 50 m deep.

bottom trawls, fixed nets, beach seines, traps

Favorable period of fishing

hot season (May – October).
